Many of us are guilty of constantly switching back to Gmail to check for new messages. And if you’re like me, you’ve probably missed an important chat message because you weren’t looking at your Gmail window when it came in. If you use Google Chrome, these days can be over since we just launched HTML5 desktop notifications which display pop-ups whenever a chat message or new email arrives.

To turn them on, click on the Settings link in the top right corner of Gmail and scroll down to the “Desktop Notifications” section. If you just want to get notified about chat messages, or if you use Priority Inbox and only want to get notifications for important messages, you can customize your settings from there too.

This functionality is currently only available for people using Google Chrome, but we’re working to make notifications part of the standard Web platform.

PHOENIX OIL HEATER is a division of ARIZONA BOILER COMPANY, INC. doing business since 1960.

In the 1990’s as fuel costs sky rocketed, we saw the need for a more efficient oil heater. Our PHOENIX OIL HEATER is the most efficient oil heater on the market today, which is why we mount a gage in the exhaust stack as well as at the hot oil heater outlet. We guarantee the stack temperature on our Phoenix, PX models, to not exceed the outgoing oil temperature by more than 100°F while on high fire. Low to mid-firing usually has a stack temp less than 50°F over oil outlet temperature.

Heaters of 10 mil Btu/hr and less are made with double helical coils and do not need economizers at operating temperatures below 500°F. Larger heaters are single helical coil units with economizers.
ASME Code Constructed

All Phoenix Oil Heater, PX model heaters, are designed and built according to Section I of the ASME code. Our minimum design gives the PX Heaters a minimum rupture pressure of 350 psi. Other heaters on the market today are not designed for “any” pressure. They can rupture or burst with as little as 25 psi if pressure was accidentally applied.

ASME stamping and National Board registrations are both optional on all PX model heaters.

Some manufacturers do not make ASME code heaters. If you don’t need ASME stamping, we can save you money while still building a heater designed according to the ASME code.
Other oil heaters on the market are not pressure rated or ASME stamped.

Some of the more popular oil heaters are not design according to ASME at all. In fact they are not even designed for ANY pressure. An accidental pressure of 20-30 psi could cause one of these heaters to completely fail and dump hot oil all over the area.

Our Center at 776 Page Street

A healthy garden has the same requirements as a healthy body and psyche. Whether it is a garden or a person, the same things are needed: Nutrients, water, air, light and space.
When I first contemplated the Center it was surrounded by asphalt and I knew that wasn’t the healing environment I had envisioned for my practice. I immediately began the process of replacing the asphalt with a beautiful, healing garden.

Careful attention to the garden in the Spring determines the health of the plants for the summer months. To ensure healthy plants, a huge truckload of organic soil is brought in and spread throughout the garden. Next, we fertilized the plants with nutrients and special microbes to ensure the health of the soil. Just as soil is the backbone of a healthy garden, so is nutrition for us.

Since DST’s founding in 1975 as a controls systems integration company, Energy Conservation and CleanTech have gone from fringe-interest to mainstream-urgency. Gas guzzling two-ton muscle cars of the 1960’s and ‘70’s have given way to composite-bodied hybrids, tipping in at barely more than a half ton; children now regularly chide their parents for leaving the lights on in empty rooms; and more and more “normal” people are now even unplugging their appliances at night to eliminate LED status indicator “vampire drain.”

Yet despite the lack of green-demand “back in the day,” DST was even then regularly involved in assisting its customers in cutting energy costs and protecting the environment. On the “facilities side,” such projects included monitoring lighting systems, monitoring load-shedding, resource-efficient effluent neutralization; and early forms of HVAC optimization. On the process side, one of our earliest energy-focused projects involved using PLCs (a new product at the time!) in a chocolate manufacturing plant. This, to operate tank agitators only when the thickening chocolate threatened to solidify—instead of running full time as before, using 3X the energy actually needed.

Fast forward to 2010 and DST’s “energy offers” now also include…

  • UL and CE-compliant “standard” & “smart” combiner box, and re-combiner box, design and/or manufacturing for the solar industry
  • Plant infrastructure, process, and equipment monitoring for energy management systems (EMS) and conditions-based-maintenance (CBM)
  • Control and Monitoring product design, engineering, and manufacturing
